DAY 01.- CHICLAYO CITY – BOSQUE DE POMAC – CHAPARRI RESERVE
We begin from the northern coastal town, Chiclayo becuase this área has nice bird spots around with good bird diversity that are associated with the Humbolt Corrent and create especial ecosistems that are only found in Peru and extreme south of Ecuador. This particular hábitat involve dry scrub forest, small hills and desert known as tumbes región, here we can get probably not a big number of birds but what you can get is a special number of birds and manyo f them endemics or restricted to this hábitat.
BIRDS CAN BE SEEN ARE: White winged Guan, White tailed Jay, Rufous Flycatcher, Tumbes Pewee, Tumbes Sparrow, Short Tailed Woodstar, Tumbes Screech Owl, Peruvian Thicknee, Stripe Headed Woodcreeper, Black Capped Sparrow, Elegant Crescentchest and many more.

DAY 02.- CHICLAYO – RAFAN – TINAJONES
This next morning we still have more to see around the tumbesiam dry forest and this time we will visit Rafan área, this is one of the few locations to see the endemic Peruvian Plantcutter so at least 2 hours drivin to get to this spot. And of course some more birds since we drive by the coast and we can get sea birds and others that live by tinajones reservoir where reeds are found.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE HERE ARE: Peruvian Plantcutter, Guanay Cormorant, Souht American Tern, Many Colored Rush Tyrant, Wren Like Rushbird, Coastal Miner, Chesnut Throated Seedeater, Fasciated Wren, Short Tailed Field Tyrant, Necklaced Spinetail and many others.

DAY 03.- CHICLAYO – ABRA GAVILAN – SAN NICOLAS LAKE – CAJAMARCA
Early departure from the northern coast to the north central Peru, heading to Cajamarca city. This early driving of course includes many bird stop son the way, making our bird day enjoyable with good landscape and birds. Here we also have the chance to visit a lake with some interesting birds that will increase your peru list, Our dinner will be taken in one of the local restaurants at Cajamarca main square.
BIRS WE CAN SEE ARE: Black Metaltail, Rufous Backed Inca Finch, Great Spinetail, Black Crested Warbler, White Throated Hawk, Black Billed Shrike Tyrant, Yellow Breasted Brush Finch and try for the secretive Blackish Tapaculo.

DAY 04.- CAJAMARCA – CHONTA RIVER – CRUZ CONGA – CELENDIN TOWN
Early visit to Chonta River for the special endemic Hummmingbird, then more driving to visit cruz conga which is an área with good bird hábitat until late at night we arrive to a small town called Celendin where we spend the night.

DAY 05.- CELENDIN – ABRA GELIC – MARANON VALLEY
Another good day for birding north central andes and at the same time visit the famous marañon valley and its specialties. This whole day birding will give us a great bird quality with endemics and range restricted species.

DAY 06.- CELENDIN – BALSAS – ABRA BARRO NEGRO – LEYMEBAMBA TOWN
This time we head to the amazonas región where the geografic changes a little and gives you different birds, another good driving to go across the marañon river and get some new birds with more good bird stops on the way.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE ARE: Coppery Metaltail, Russet Mantled Softail, Peruvian Pigeon, Streak Throated Bush Tyrant, Scarlet Fronted Parakeet, Purple Thraoted Euphonia, White Sided Flowerpiercer and try for the nomadic Buff Fronted Owl.

DAY 07.- LEYMEBAMBA – ATUEN RIVER – HUEMBO RESERVE – POMACOCHAS TOWN
Another full day birding amazonas región and getting the specialties as we drive on. Along this bird route we have some good stops for the Beautifull Marveleous Spatuletail and bird the Trail that goes parallel to Atuen river for some good birds there, then keep moving until we arrive to Pomacochas town, nice little place located by a beautiful lake.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE ARE: Buff Bellied Tanager, Red Hooded Tanager, Chesnut Crowned Antpitta, Marveleous Spatelutail, Torrent Tyrannulet, White Banded Tyrannulet, Montane Woodcreeper and try for the shy Large footed Tapaculo.
OVERNIGHT IN POMACOCHA TOWN
DAY 08.- POMACOCHAS TOWN – SAN LORENZO TRAIL
Full day with a very particular walk given at San Lorenzo Trail, that includes steep walk with very good bird variety. This great but tiring Trail ranges from 2500 to 2900m. but very rewarding at the end since you can get mix flocks and a very special Antpitta that live up there.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE ARE: Pale Billed Antpitta, Leymebamba Antpitta, Lacrimose Tanager, Peruvian Wren, Gray Breasted Mountain Toucan, Golden Plumed Parakeet, Band Tailed Fruiteater, Powerful Woodpecker, Amethyst Woodstar, Black Throated Tody Tyrant, Trilling Tapaculo and many more.

DAY 09.- POMACOCHAS – ALTO NIEVA – ANTPITTA FEEDERS
Another bird day with different species and hábitat, this time we will visit a local lodge with great hummingbird and Antpitta feeders. This bird location has special targets and endemics around that can be only posible by staying there, so our stay would be rewarded by many great birds.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE ARE: Blue Winged Mountain Tanager, Rufous Tailed Tyrant, Pale Edge Flycatcher, Cinnamon Breasted Tody Tyrant, Rusty Tinged Antpitta, Ochre Fronted Antpitta, White Capped Tanager, Royal Sunangel, Black Faced Tanager, Bar Winged Wood Wren, Greenish Puffleg, Fawn Breasted Brilliant and try the lodge’s specialty and rare Long Wiskered Owlet.

DAY 10.- ALTO NIEVA LODGE – LLANTERIA FEEDERS – MORRO DE CALAZADA – MOYOBAMBA CITY
Leaving alto nieva lodge we still have some extra bird spots with hummingbird feeders where we can get extra birds and bird flocks until we arrive to Morro de Calzada which is a particular área around a big rocky Hill. Here the vegetation and bird changes since altitud get much lower than before and the bird varitey is great.
BIRDS WE CAN SEE HERE ARE: Ecuadorian Piedtail, Black Bellied or Huallaga Tanager, Green Hermit, White Winged Tanager, Versicolored Barbet, Mishana Tyrannulet, Golden Collared Toucannet, Paradise Tanager, Yellow Crowned Tyrannulet, Black Faced Dacnis, Stygian Owl and try for the uncommon Painted Manakin recently described.

DAY 11, 12, 13.- MOYOBAMBA – TARAPOTO – BELLAVISTA – CORDILLERA AZUL – PLATAFORMA TOWN
The following days will be spent in our trip to a very remote corner of Cordillera Azul park. This trip involve long driving in 4 by 4 local trucks and the hours spent in car to our final destination will depend on the road conditions. Since this área gets dry and rainy season, being mid april the month that begins to get better. So once on the truck we also have the chance to do some bird stops and relax as we drive to the main place called Plataforma, an área where we can have a local hostal with basic service, enough to spend 03 nights which is considered good enough for the main target SCARLET BANDED BARBET and the rest of the specialties we can find on this place like CORDILLERA AZUL ANTBIRD, PLATAFORMA WOODCREEPER, NAPO SABREWING, SCARLET BREASTED FRUITEATER, ROSE FRONTED PARAKEET, BLACKISH PEWEE, WHITE NECKED PUFFBIRD, GILDED BARBET, YELLOW BILLED NUNBIRD AND MANY MORE¡
OVERNIGHT AT PLATAFORMA TOWN
DAY 14.- PLATAFORMA – TARAPOTO – LIMA
Our last day begins on the plataforma town and takes at least 5 hours to drive back and find a good road. So early departure and catch some birds at Tarapoto city to then take our plane back to Lima in the afternoon.
Around Tarapoto there is good chance for some birds like Planalto Hermit, Ashy Headed Greenlet, Solitary Black Cacique, Yellow Headed Caracara, Oriole Blackbird and others.
Along this bird tour we Will visit nice birdy places and new of trip is soft paced walk with low altitud day forest at chaparrin Chiclayo región.
The only hard walk required Will be at San Lorenzo Trail, where there is a steep walk required for the pale billed Anpitta.
This northern bird tour Will be also with nice Antpitta and Hummingbird feeders. Wehere you can get your nice bird shots.
