01 hour and 20 minutes driving from Lima to this interesting oasis and good bird spot, you can begin with your birds list before reaching the main bird point, where there is a extra stop for really good birds like Tschudi’s Nightjar and lesser Nighthawk, plus some more birds like Rufescent Flycatcher, Parrot Billed Seedeater, Drab Seedeater, Pied Crested Tit Tyrant, Pacific Parrotlet, Chesnut throated Seedeater and many more. Then few more minutes you walk along the trails at the Hills to get some more specialties like the endemic Thick Billed Miner, Cactus Canastero, Coastal Miner and Raimondi’s Yellow Finch. Some others like Oasis Hummingbird, Peruvian Sheartail, Short Tailed Field Tyrant, Grayish Miner, Andean Tinamou and many more. Perfect day with great birds while Birding Lomas de Asia and Coayllo bird spot, any birder should visit this perfect habitat since the distance by car is not that bad comapre to other bird spot for similar species, here a mixture of dry scrub and part of Atacama desert bring the best chance for you to see the few specialties around lima just by picking up this day trip known as birding lomas de asia.
